On Wednesday, June 5th at 12:30PM, Mayor Jim Kenney will join leaders of this year's Philadelphia Juneteenth Parade and Festival at City Hall for a press conference announcing new additions to this year’s Juneteenth celebrations. Earlier this year, Mayor Kenney was named Honorary Chair of the 2019 Juneteenth Parade and Festival!
Mayor Kenney will stand alongside long-time supporter Councilwoman Jannie Blackwell and Juneteenth CEO Micheal Rashid and COO Ali Salahuddin to announce the exciting new additions to this year's parade, including a new parade route along 52nd Street and a street renaming ceremony of 52nd Street to Muhammad Ali Way.
On Saturday, June 22, more than 10,000 individuals will descend on West Philadelphia to celebrate the history of Juneteenth, watch the two-mile long cultural parade and enjoy a festival at Malcolm X Park where Kindred The Family Soul will not only perform, but also serve as Grand Marshal of this year's Parade!
