The Pennsylvania Juneteenth Initiative Inc. is a nonprofit organization hosting the one-day Juneteenth celebration in Philadelphia to commemorate the first and only true African-American Independence Celebration, the celebration of the Jubilee. Thousands are expected to gather on Saturday, June 22, 2019 for this celebration which will commence with an “Honor the Ancestors” Breakfast, followed by a parade down the historic 52nd Street and ending with a festival in Malcolm X Park.
During the Launch and Lunch on November 29, interested participants will get a sneak peak into what to expect for the 2019 event.
